HELLO!
My name is Abhinav Sood, and I am currently a CBSE Grade 12 student at Suncity School. I’ve taken up the PCM stream with Computer Science and aim to pursue engineering in the future. I engage in a variety of extracurricular activities, particularly writing, debating, and playing the piano.
I have authored a book titled ‘Rises the Moon’ and been published in anthologies ‘Wilderness’ and ‘Voices of the Soul’.
I have been avidly participating in various debate competitions and MUNs in the past few years, ever since the onset of the pandemic.
Last but not least, I have been learning western classical piano and studying music theory for the past 7 years and am working towards graduating the 8th and final grade of the Trinity College of London.

Conducted an extensive literature review on ASR technology and its many applications in the medical field under the mentorship of Dr. Veronica LaMastro (Biomedical Engineering, Brown University). Wrote an original and meaningful synthesis, and was accepted for publication in the Journal of Student Research.

Created a melanoma-detection system that isolates probable tumor regions in dermoscopic images and classifies them as benign or malignant. Implemented a GAN-based data augmentation pipeline to generate realistic dermoscopic images across diverse skin tones, reducing dataset imbalance and enhancing model generalisability.

Coded a Python-based program that adds a live wrong-note highlighter on sheet music using input from a MIDI-keyboard. Includes a moving pointer, auto-scroll feature, and user-customisable error margin with minimum of 65 ms.

Developed a Python-based Fourier analysis tool that compares amateur and professional band performances by processing .wav files through Short-Time Fourier Transforms. Utilised advanced signal analysis to detect variations in pitch, tonal quality, and timbre, providing feedback for musicians to refine their performances.
